GOVERNANCE

Transparency, Accountability, and Participation (TAP)

Our regional partners and members are dedicated to making development processes in their countries more equitable, inclusive, participatory, and sustainable. While they lead these efforts on the ground, we support their engagement with a key player in development: International Financial Institutions (IFIs).

Our approach addresses both sides of this relationship. First, we empower civil society organizations (CSOs) by providing them with the information and tools needed to effectively engage with IFIs. Second, we work with IFIs directly to ensure their policies and practices provide the necessary space for citizen participation. The foundation of all our work is focused on enhancing IFI policies related to access to information, citizen engagement, and accountability.

We actively collaborate with IFIs as they review or develop new governance policies, ensuring these policies provide accessible information, safe spaces for engagement, and reliable accountability systems. After these policies are adopted, we monitor their implementation and support our partners in using these new opportunities to advocate for change.
