How major IFIs responded to COVID-19?
Organization members in Arab Watch Coalition studied the World Bank’s response to the pandemic in seven different countries in the MENA region. This effort was part of a collaborative global research project gathering organizations from different parts of the world to analyze the role of major IFIs amid the COVID-19 pandemic. On January 22, the global movement released the "Missing Receipts" report voicing civil society and local communities' challenges during the pandemic and the factual realities of these fundings from different backgrounds worldwide.

COVID-19 response from the MENA perspective
On February 25, Arab Watch Coalition held an online webinar to introduce 7 case studies conducted by its organization members from Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen. The studies analyze specific projects funded by the World Bank under the Fast-Track Facility dedicated for COVID-19 response. The webinar, which was conducted in Arabic and English, brought together AWC members who carried out these studies with the World Bank representative, the Citizen Engagement Focal Point for the Middle East and North Africa. AWC Co-Director, Amy Ekdawi, moderated the discussion with the speakers and the attendees.
